筹划了一年多的“中国戏曲学院”即将在北京建院。目前正积极从事招生工作。4月25日正式开学。这是我国第一座研究民族传统戏曲的大学,也是中国戏剧界令人振奋的一件大事.国务院于1956年6月1日通过了筹建“中国戏曲学院的草案”.1956年10月11日在文化部部务会议上,讨论了筹建中国戏曲学院的暂行方案,并组成筹备委员会。筹备会主任委员是欧阳予倩,副主任委员是晏甬,委员有刘芝明、田汉、梅兰芳、周信芳、程砚秋、史若虚、萧长华、郝寿臣等28人。

On October 11, 1956 At a ministry meeting at the Ministry of Culture, the tentative plan for the establishment of the Chinese Opera Academy was discussed and a preparatory committee was formed. The chairman of the preparatory committee is Ouyang Yuqian and the vice chairman is Yan Yong. Members include 28 members including Liu Zhiming, Tian Han, Mei Lanfang, Zhou Xinfang, Cheng Yanqiu, Shi Ruoxu, Xiao Changhua and Hao Shouchen.
