圣—琼·佩斯(Saint-John Perse,1887—1975),当代法国诗人、外交家,曾任驻美大使、法国外交部秘书长等职。他在中国生活过五年。从1916年至1921年在法国驻北京使馆任三秘、二秘。他的著名长诗《远征》就是在中国写成的。据他自述:写这些诗,是在“从北京骑马一天可达的地方、一个古老道观里,这里可以看到通往西北的骆驼商队走过。”他的诗精炼、流畅、词采高华、气势浩荡,形成一种富于节奏的音乐性的散文风格。曾获1960年诺贝尔文学奖。我刊曾发表钱林森的文章《中国,给了他诗名,给了他歌喉！》(1996年第2期)介绍过这位诗人。
Saint-John Perse (1887-1975), a contemporary French poet and diplomat, former ambassador to the United States and secretary-general of the French Foreign Ministry. He has lived in China for five years. From 1916 to 1921 in the French embassy in Beijing any three secretaries, two secretaries. His famous poem “Expedition” was written in China. According to him, writing these poems was “a day of horse riding in Beijing, an ancient Taoist temple where you can see the camel caravans leading northwest.” His poem is refined, smooth, Hua, magnificent, form a rhythmic musical prose style. Won the Nobel Prize in 1960. I published Qianlin Sen’s article "China, gave him the poem, gave him the voice! (No. 2, 1996) introduced the poet.
