硼素能促进植物体内碳水化合物的合成和糖的运输,缺硼时转化酶的活性受到抑制,使代谢发生紊乱,糖和淀粉只在叶中积累,不能向种子运输。植物的各个器官中以花的含硼量为最高,花又以雌蕊为最多。缺硼时花药和花丝萎缩,生长发育停止,出现“花而不实”的现象。因此,花期是作物需硼关键时期,又称之需硼“临界期”。硼还能增强植物的抗逆性,提高作物的抗病、抗寒、抗旱能力。对硼敏感且需求较多的农作物有:甜菜、油菜、
