禅宗文献难读是学者们共知的事实。造成禅宗文献难读的原因主要有两方面:一是禅宗语言有其独特的表达方式;二是禅宗语言有其复杂的词汇系统。瞭解禅宗语言的词汇特点,是阅读禅宗文献的基础。禅宗是中国化的佛教,是中印文化融合的产物,禅宗文献深深地打上了这种文化融合的烙印。同时,禅宗又是世俗化、大众化、平民化的宗教,其信徒众多而复杂,上自帝王将相,下至平民百姓,社会各个阶层、各个行业的人都有,禅宗文献的语言也呈现出多样性。我们对其作语言研究时,必须把它放到文化融合以及宗教与世俗互动的背景中去考察。作为禅宗灯录
Difficult to read the Zen literature is a fact known to scholars. There are two main reasons that cause the difficulty of reading the Zen literature: First, the Zen language has its unique expression; second, the Zen language has its complex vocabulary system. Understanding the vocabulary features of Zen language is the basis for reading Zen literature. Zen is Chinese Buddhism and a product of the fusion of cultures of China and India. Zen literature is deeply imprinted on this cultural fusion. At the same time, the religion of Buddhism is secularized, popularized and civilized. Its followers are numerous and complex.
