ISO P type of workpiece materials, including steel, with good machinability, is the most widely used in all walks of life one of the workpiece materials. A wide range of uses have led to the development of a wide variety of alloy steels with different physical properties that have resulted in a variety of metal cutting performance issues. In addition to the economic factors to consider in mass production, these issues make the machining of ISO P-type steels a significant challenge for parts manufacturers and associated tool manufacturers. Based on the major physical properties of different materials, ISO metalworking workpiece materials fall into six broad categories: Class K includes cast iron; nickel and titanium based
