5月8日至12日,民政部基层政权建设司在北京召开了“乡镇干部培训工作座谈会”。来自全国20个省、市、自治区的35名乡镇长参加了会议。现将会议的有关情况综述如下:1、乡镇长们的感受与会的乡镇长都参加过全国或省一级乡镇长培训班,他们对民政部门抓培训工作一致表示感谢,认为民政部门做了一件大好事,表达了党和政府对他们这些工作最辛苦、条件最差、待遇最低的“芝麻官”的关心、关怀和重视。他们认为:①乡镇干部的素质直接决定着基层政权功能作用的发挥,进而言之,基层政权的巩固与否影响着整个国家的稳定和发展;②大力发展社会主义商
