Peter Kivi is a contemporary American philosopher who has written and published five series of philosophical works of music since 1980, and conducted in-depth philosophical thoughts on the topics of music and performance, music and reproduction, music and drama, music and performance. This “Pure Music: Philosophical Thinking of Music Experience” is his fourth book on music philosophy. Chapter 8 of this book addresses the issue of music and emotions and explores the relationship between the causes of musical pleasures, the attributes of musical performance, and the power of their inspiration in an enlightening manner.
