Prior to the adoption of the nineteenth amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920, women in 17 states or territories throughout the country were granted political power. However, with the exception of Illinois, Rhode Island, and Michigan, other states or territories are on the Mississippi West of the west. And when western women gained political power in the 19th century, it was precisely when the eastern women’s political participation movement was at a low ebb and progressless. This obvious difference has aroused great interest in research. Why have outstanding leaders, Eastern women who organized work full and sport started earlier without first
