在过去的几年中,一些人曾在若干不同的场合向美国政府的官员抱怨说,尽管拿不出确切证据,他们却实际感觉到存在着一种不同寻常的噪声。在1981年春末夏初的那几个月里,人们的这种抱怨尤为增多。经过查询,发现在大多数情况下这种噪声似乎是一种频率非常低的次声。由于一般的听觉技术对这种噪声的测试无能为力,医学上通常便推测这种噪声的感觉可能是属于人体内源性的,以致最常见的诊断结果是耳鸣。
In the past few years, some people have complained to U.S. government officials on several different occasions that they actually feel there is an unusual noise despite the lack of concrete evidence. In the months of early spring and early summer of 1981, people complained about this increase. After inquiries, found that in most cases this noise seems to be a very low frequency of infrasound. Since general auditory techniques can not do this kind of noise test, it is often medically hypothesized that the perception of noise may be endogenous to the human body so that the most common diagnosis is tinnitus.
