I have received your letter and I don’t think “shy” is a problem. From your letter， I know Mei is a clever girl. Clever people usually don’t fear anything that hasn’t come yet like that. And if I were her， I would practice and practice， then I would think it weren’t a problem any more. Time is a bird flying into eternity. You can tell her， “If you don’t try， you’ll fail and you won’t have another chance to show yourself.” If I were you， I would give her strong backing. And if I were you， I would ask the rest of the students to give her some confidence. I think if Mei knows she has many friends who want to help her， she will not fear anymore and she will be a winner！
