In the oil and gas industry, the dangers of pipeline over-cathodic protection are enormous. Over-protection at ambient temperature can cause the cathode coating of the outer coating to peel off. The relationship between cathodic disbondment and over-cathodic protection was studied under low temperature conditions. The experimental results show that the cathodic disbonding of the coating can be accelerated by the increase of cathodic protection current. In the case of self-corrosion potential, Is relatively small; the cathodic disassociation in the salt solution is greater than the soil mud test results; the freeze / thaw cycles exacerbate the cathodic disbondment of the tubing relative to simple freezing.
