员工的创造力常常被扼杀,而不是得到支持。几乎所有的经理和主管都知道创造力的宝贵,但是在如何激发员工创造力并形成实际工作能力方面,经理们多数情况下会选择扼杀创造力,尽管他们的主观意愿不是这样的。这是企业或者其他组织机构不能持续发展甚至面临失败的重要原因。为什么会形成这种情况?经理们的难处在于:在坚持既定工作原则和支持员工发挥创造力两方面,他必须优先考虑前者——这既是出于整体的战略需要,也是因为坚持原则总比冒险搞创新安全得多。
The creativity of employees is often stifled rather than supported. Almost all managers and supervisors know that creativity is invaluable, but managers in most cases choose to stifle creativity in ways that motivate employees’ creativity and create practical work capabilities, even though their subjective willingness does not. This is an important reason why companies or other organizations cannot continue to develop or even fail. Why is this happening? The difficulty for managers is that they must give priority to the former in adhering to the established working principles and supporting the creativity of employees. This is both due to overall strategic needs and because it is always more adventurous than adhering to principles. Innovation is much safer.
