苏联乌拉尔机器厂在铣削轧钢机架上的槽时,采用硬质合金铣刀代替高速钢铣刀,取得了成绩。按原来的工艺规定这种槽是用直径ф=90公厘的高速钢铣刀,先粗铣,再半精铣、精铣来完成的。为了提高劳动生产率及减少高速钢铣刀的磨损,改用装有四把T15K6硬质合金刀头的铣刀来加工。这种铣刀的结构及使用都很方便,下表就是使用这种铣刀与高速钢铣刀切削情况的对比。
