Purine derivatives widely exist in animals and plants in nature, with special physiological functions and pharmacological effects. Purine derivatives mostly have strong absorption of low emission properties, fluorescence at room temperature is weak or not fluorescent. However, many purines produce intense phosphorescence in either the 77K frozen glass or adsorbed onto a solid surface. Due to the weak fluorescence of many purine compounds, it is of great importance to study the properties of room temperature phosphorescence of their solid substrates. It has been found that some important purine compounds can generate room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) when adsorbed on the surface of filter paper, and these studies are carried out under alkaline conditions.
