为了进一步推动我国的自行车运动,促进自行车全民健身活动的开展,同时为庆祝建国50周年及澳门回归,在国家体育总局局长伍绍祖同志的倡议下,在国际奥委会主席萨马兰奇和国际自行车联盟的支持下,中国奥委会决定今年举办第四届“国际奥委会主席杯”百城市自行车赛。本次比赛共分为两个阶段进行,第一阶段为分区预赛,自6月初开始,各城市按照比赛规程,结合实际情况进行选拔;第二阶段为总决赛,定于8月8日
