Changshu Polypropylene Plant of Jiangsu Province is a fixed-point production of polypropylene filament by the Ministry of Textile Industry. In the tide of reform and opening up, the factory saw that implementing outward-looking development and developing international economic cooperation is an inevitable trend of opening up to the depth of development. Therefore, the determination to establish a joint venture to set up factories abroad is firmly established. In July 1987, the plant jointly with the Chemical Development Institute of the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chemical Fiber Plant of Haining County of Zhejiang Province jointly organized a polypropylene plant in Thailand. After repeated investigations and arguments on the market, technology, and enterprise affordability, the plant was successfully built.
