面临伟大的改革时代,中国水彩画向何处去?走什么路才能不负时代重托?这是引人注目,发人深思的课题。本文从分析中国水彩画特色,回顾水彩画历史沿革,从介绍中外有代表性画家成果入手,深入阐述中西文化交流应以民族性为基点,在弘扬中华文化、振兴中国水彩中必须扩大题材内容的深刻内涵,倡导形式手法的独创性;同时,就习作与创作、写生与写意、艺术品与宣传品等相互关系,指出了当前存在的一些问题及发展水彩画的艺术途径。
