抗日战争时期,茅盾同志来到了重庆。他先在唐家沱天津路一号居住,后来迁至市中区枣子岚垭良庄,与沈衡山(即沈钧儒)老先生隔家而居。对民族战争的胜利和祖国的前途,他一直非常关心,对黑暗的统治,他进行了坚韧的斗争。一九四五年,茅盾同志五十诞辰,重庆文艺界为他举办了纪念宴会。他在宴会席上表示,今后要更加努力,如果看不到民主中国的实现,死也不会瞑目。就在这一年,他冒着山城的高温,挥笔写下了他的第一部剧作《清明前后》。
During the War of Resistance Against Japan, Comrade Mao Dun came to Chongqing. He first lived in Tianjin Road, Tangjiatuo, and later moved to Lanzhong County, Zaozhong District, Liangzhuang, and Shen Hengshan (ie, Shen Junru), who lives in front of him. In 1945, Comrade Mao Dun 50th birthday, Chongqing literary and art circles held a commemorative dinner for him. He said at the banquet hall that in the future he will work even harder and die if he can not see the realization of a democratic China. Just this year, he braved the high temperatures in the mountain, wrote his first play “Before and after the Ching Ming.”
