The middle school “Society” is a new discipline set up in the curriculum reform of Shanghai’s primary and secondary school curriculum. However, there are still different views on the current education sector. Now we will discuss some of the opinions on the compilation of textbooks for this subject and their relationship with historical knowledge. First, the social sciences in secondary schools are based on the nature and tasks of compulsory education in our country, and explore an experimental curriculum that comprehensively teaches basic knowledge of the society to change the current state of the detailed content of social science courses in basic education. Social courses generally have two modes: one is the name “society”, and the actual is a combination of independent courses (such as history, geography, and citizens), which can be called “plate-type” social clubs.
