Founded in 1989 by Ulead Information Inc., the company created the image processing software for DTP and other applications. LaPalette, the first product launched in 1990, was chosen by many hardware vendors as bundled software. In 1991, Ulead also successfully launched PhotooStyler, a professional image editing software based on the Windows platform, and transferred its exclusive printing, marketing and sales rights to Aldus.
