Gucheng County is one of the 37 impoverished counties in Hubei Province. There are 1 general hospital and 1 TCM hospital at the county level, and 19 hospitals at the township level are divided into 3 categories according to physical and geographical conditions: central hospitals, plain hill hospitals, and mountainous Xinxiang hospitals.
