One day late last year, she suddenly received a phone call from the deputy mayor of Penglai City Government Zhang Weili saying that NHK, Japan’s largest radio and television station, would like to make a film about Henry Luss. I’m no stranger to the Henry Luce family. In the early 1980s, when I accidentally read an English book entitled “Luce and his Empire,” I was surprised to find that the journalism king, once considered one of the most authoritative figures in the United States, was born in Own hometown - Penglai, Shandong. He is the son of an American missionary who spent his childhood in the Jiaodong area and returned to the United States at the age of 14 to attend high school and university. In 1923, he started the “Time” magazine. By the 1950s, the magazine had become the most authoritative news publication in the United States and even in the western world. Time Inc. also became a huge communication group with seven or eight famous publications. From the 1940s to the 1960s, Luce took the limelight in the United States by using public opinion positions such as “Time” and “Happiness.” British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said that Luce was “one of the seven most prestigious figures in modern America.” Now, Japan NHK want to shoot his film, what they want to shoot it?
