本文证明,经济学并不具有保留所有有效和有用思想而抛弃无效无用思想的完美机制。关于经济学目的论的看法是不能成立的,经济思想史的任务不能局限于从经济现状来研究过去,而要立足于过去的作家来研究经济现状,从而看到随时间流逝经济学的所得与所失。经济思想史这门学科的任务是发掘思想的宝藏,保留有价值思想,否则那些思想将被遗忘,所以培育这门学科也是经济学家的利益之所在。
