自从鸦片战争爆发以来,由于民族立场及研究角度的不同,中外政治家、史学家对这场战争的评价历来就不一致,英国称之为扩大贸易而进行的通商战争,而中国称之为侵略中国的鸦片战争;中国学者多从政治角度研究这场战争,而港台及海外的学者多从近代化的角度来研究这场战争。我觉得应遵循理性的精神,用辩证的眼光来看待鸦片战争。
Since the outbreak of the Opium War, politicians and historians at home and abroad have historically been inconsistent in their assessment of this war due to differences in national stances and research perspectives. The British government has called this a war of commerce for expanding trade, and China calls it invading China. The Opium War; Chinese scholars mostly studied the war from a political perspective, and scholars from Hong Kong, Taiwan and overseas mostly studied this war from the perspective of modernization. I think we should follow the spirit of reason and use a dialectical perspective to view the Opium War.
