中药治疗胆石症已屡见成效，但确切证明有溶石作用则尚少肯定性的报导。本工作应用胆宁胶囊给已制备成胆囊结石的豚鼠经口灌胃进行治疗，结果证示胆宁低、中、高剂量组均有溶石的作用，与生理盐水组相比，胆宁低、中剂量组的溶石作用显然为强，差异显著，而对胆固醇结石溶解作用则与ＵＤＣＡ相仿。胆汁成分分析结果显示该药具有升高胆汁中胆汁酸含量，降低粘液并能促进胆汁流量等药理作用。
