To understand the visual-motor developmental development of deaf children, 352 Deaf and dumb students from two special education schools were tested using the Beery’s VMI test. The results showed that VMI development of deaf children lagged slightly behind that of senior students and that of fifth and sixth graders was 85. This backwardness diminishes with age, with the average grade score of 94.02 for first-year students and 112.06 for pre-school language classes. Conclusion: Generally speaking, VMI development of deaf children is still in normal range. VMI test results can well reflect the learning ability of deaf children. Drawing training is a significant factor affecting the test results.
