1992-01-01 1 Scope of application This standard specifies the basic requirements for metal multilayer materials used for thin-walled plain bearings (bearings, bushings, thrust washers). Multi-layer materials consist of a steel back, a bearing alloy (cast, sintered, rolled composite) and a surface plated metal layer. This standard also applies to the bimetal strip composed of steel back and cast lead bronze anti-wear layer (see appendix).
