Based on the principles of ecology, the authors discussed how to rationally arrange industrial structures in urban ecosystems. The article points out that urban ecosystems are very similar to natural ecosystems in terms of material circulation and energy flow. In natural ecosystems, biological communities form a complex food network through cross-cutting of various food chains. In this network structure, material utilization is very high, there is no “useful” and “waste” of the points. Therefore, it will not produce environmental pollution. In the urban ecosystem, for example, most of the material cycles in China's industry are chain-like, the dependence among various substances is large, the resources are wasted and the environment is polluted.
