国际奥委会主席罗格曾称赞2008年北京奥运会“无与伦比”(truly exceptional),时隔两年,亚奥理事会主席艾哈迈德亲王用“非同凡响”(extraordinary)一词称赞广州亚运会,称其“绝对是最好的一届亚运会”。广州亚运会再一次向世界表明,中国能够为世界的文明进步作出重大贡献。广州亚运会共有45个国家和地区,3万多名运动员、教练员、技术官员及媒体记者参加,大部分具有宗教信仰背景,宗教服务工作任务繁重。为兑现我国的庄重承诺,展示我国的宗教历史文化风貌,自筹办亚运会之日起,亚组委和广州市就将亚运宗教服务筹备工作纳入重要议事日程,成立了宗教服务组,加强领导,周密研究,精心部署。宗教服务组依靠国家宗教局、广东省民族宗教事务委员会和广州市民族宗教事务局的有力指导,严格遵循国家的宗教政策法规和国际惯例,充分调动政府部门、宗教团体、社会三方的力量,突出重点,抓好难点,打造亮点,圆满完成了亚运宗教服务各项工作,确保了整个亚运会期间宗教服务的优质、安全、和谐、有序,备受各国运动员、代表团官员的赞誉,为和谐亚运增光添彩,充分诠释了“激情盛会,和谐亚洲”的广州亚运会理念,为广州亚运会的成功举办作出了积极贡献。
