中国是蚕丝的发源地。育蚕、丝织不仅使人类从亘古蛮荒跨入文明时代,还创造出源远流长的蚕丝文化,我国古代皇室行亲蚕礼则是这一文化极致的代表。作为皇家礼蚕的典型建筑,清乾隆年间修建的位于今北京北海内的先蚕坛,是全国现存的唯一的一座皇家祭祀先蚕的祭坛。事实上,元、明时期、清雍正时期,统治者都曾在北京建有先蚕坛,虽已不复存在,但在皇室档案及一些北京地方古籍中还有零星记载。本文通过这些仅存于文献中的珍贵资料,对元、明、清时期统治者在北京先后修建
