Hughes, Norway’s Raufoss Technologies and Alliant Technology Systems have conducted their first flight test of an enhanced rocket engine for AMRAAM. It is currently proposed to use this engine to improve the performance of ground-launched and air-launched AMRAAM. The flight test at the Andoya rocket test site in Norway was initiated by the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
