《工程抗震》在有五年历史的《地震工程动态》的基础上创刊了。这不仅是我国工程抗震界的一件喜事,也是减轻我国地震灾害的一项有效的对策。《工程抗震》一定要为减轻地震灾害做出贡献。众所周知,强烈地震会给人类带来巨大的灾难。据联合国统计,在公元1900年到1976年的76年间,全世界有四百五十多万人死于地震、火山喷发、洪水、滑坡、雪崩、旋风、飓风、台风、暴雨及龙卷风等自然灾害,三亿三千二百多万人因之而受伤或失去了自已的家园。其中,因地震而死亡的达二百六十多万人,
“Engineering Earthquake” was founded on the basis of a five-year history of “Earthquake Engineering Development.” This is not only a happy event for China’s engineering anti-seismic community, but also an effective countermeasure to reduce China’s earthquake disaster. “Engineering Earthquake” must contribute to reducing earthquake disasters. As we all know, a strong earthquake will bring a huge disaster to humanity. According to statistics from the United Nations, during the 76 years from 1900 to 1976, more than 4.5 million people in the world died of natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, landslides, avalanches, cyclones, hurricanes, typhoons, rainstorms, and tornadoes. More than 334 million people were injured or lost their homes. Among them, more than 2.6 million people died as a result of the earthquake.
