An important source of human disease includes the transmission of pathogenic viruses through contaminated blood and plasma-derived drugs. To improve blood supply safety, Pentose Pharmaceuticals has developed a new virus inactivation technology (INACTIN) that selects for target proteins on proteins or other biomolecules. This technique is effective against capsid and capsid RNA and DNA viruses.
