老三届的乔依德一生挫折很多,没有读过大学,后来却上了哈佛。文革时,因为“家庭问题”,他在街道工厂糊纸盒、当搬运工。但是在困境面前他总能找到自己的方向,明辨大势。在1972年基辛格访华之后,他决定自学外语,暗下决心出国;1992年,小平同志南巡讲话之后,哈佛学子的他选择回国发展。 如今已经是纽约人寿国际公司(中国)总经理、上海首席代表的乔依德先生回首当年,他说“人要有自己的价值判断,不要盲目跟风。”
The third generation of Joyce life frustration many did not read the university, but later on Harvard. During the Cultural Revolution, because of “family problems,” he stuck cartons at street factories as porters. However, in the face of difficulties, he can always find his own direction and tell the general trend. After Kissinger’s visit to China in 1972, he decided to learn a foreign language and secretly determined to go abroad. In 1992, after Comrade Xiaoping’s southern tour speech, Harvard’s son chose to return to China. Now Mr. Joyce, the general manager of New York Life Insurance Company (China) and Shanghai ’s chief representative, looks back on the same year. He said "People should have their own value judgments and do not follow the trend blindly.
