1986年,河南书法家们在北京举办《墨海弄潮》展览,头一次看到王海兄的书法和篆刻作品,他的磅礴气势吸引了我。我心想,渊源深厚的中州文化,到底不断地孕育人才。后来经过王亚雄的介绍我认识了王海,在平日来往中,这位沉潜木讷,不趋时髦的青年人(现在也人到中年了)给我的印象,有如《庄子·田子方》中那位给宋元君画图,至于“解衣般礴裸”的“真画者”;是一心扑在艺术上,不拘俗套的书画迷;是一位对艺术、对社会都抱着一片至诚的艺术工作者。
