Dielectric logging tools enable the analysis of freshwater environments through stratigraphic electromagnetic wave measurements to identify flowable hydrocarbons. Dielectric logging data are particularly useful for analyzing heavy oil reservoirs. A new type of instrument is bringing new life into dielectric logging technology over time.
