Sun Yufang, deputy director of the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, “This time we learned a lesson, took the market as the forerunner, market development and technology development at the same time.” In the course of more than ten years of development of UNIX-based home-grown operating systems, Mr. Sun Yufang is still uncomfortable. “Although nearly 200 scientists and technicians including myself have spent a lot of hard work, it has not achieved the intended purpose.”
