The Opinions of the CPC Central Committee on Insisting on and Perfecting the System of Multi-party Cooperation and Political Consultation under the Leadership of the Communist Party of China in December 1989 clearly pointed out that the system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation led by the CPC is a basic political system in our country. In 1993, the first session of the Eighth National People’s Congress again wrote the system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation as a basic political system of our country.
