More than 175,000 pieces of Sheng Xuanhuai archives (hereinafter referred to as Shengsheng archives) collected by the Shanghai Library were regarded by the academic community as important literature databases for the study of modern and contemporary Chinese history. The content of the file is rich and complicated. It not only involves such major historical events as the Westernization Movement and the Revolution of 1911, but also retains many precious historical materials that seem subtle but reflect the details of the changes in all levels of politics, economy and culture in modern China.
