大运河作为活态遗产,以其交通便利、灌溉行洪而恩泽于两岸的黎民百姓,也灌溉着沿岸城市的经济繁荣。扬州作为与大运河共生共长的城市,以水而建,以水而兴。从公元前486年吴王夫差开邗沟、筑邗城而构成扬州城池的最初雏形起,近2500年来,大运河给扬州留下大量珍贵的遗产、遗存,成为今天人们敬畏自然、尊重历史的宝贵财富。
As a viable heritage, the Grand Canal, with its convenient transportation and flood irrigation, benefited both the people of the common people on both sides of the Strait and irrigated the economic prosperity of the coastal cities. As a long and symbiotic city with the Grand Canal, Yangzhou is built with water and rejuvenated with water. From the first prototype of the city of Yangzhou which opened in 1846 by King Wufu since 486 BC, the Grand Canal left a large number of precious heritages and remains to Yangzhou in the past 2500 years, and today people have awe and reverence for history precious.
