10年前,公安部作出在全国范围内开展刑事犯罪资料工作的战略部署,下发了《关于刑事犯罪情报资料工作暂行规定》等文件,从而确立了刑事犯罪资料工作在刑事侦察工作中的重要地位。根据公安部的指示精神,湖北省于1986年逐步开展了这项业务,经过10年的发展,取得以下成绩:设置了专门工作机构湖北省公安厅设立刑事犯罪资料科,人员编制为10人;全省12个地市和5个省直管市县级单位中,已有武汉、黄石等8个地市在刑顶处及支队内设资料科(或称队、室),45个县、市、区刑警大队设立资料中队,其余单位都固定了专人。
