The “self-inductance” section of the textbook attempts to illustrate the general laws of self-induction phenomenon based on the two basic experiments of “power-on self-inductance” and “power-off self-inductance”. This does not meet the general habit of students’ thinking. The reason is that the circuit structure of the two experiments is relatively complicated and the experimental phenomena are very different. If we start from the beginning, students are required to analyze and sum up the concept of self-induced electromotive force from a variety of experimental phenomena and establish it.
