中国共产党优秀党员、中国戏曲学院院长、研究员、中国戏曲学会副会长、文化部振兴昆剧指导委员会副主任、中国戏剧家协会常务理事、中国戏剧家协会北京分会副主席、国家教委艺术教育委员会委员、梅兰芳纪念馆馆长、中国昆剧研究会副会长、北京市京剧史研究会会长、著名戏曲研究家、戏曲教育家俞琳同志,因心肌梗塞症突发,抢救无效,于1989年3月14日零时20分在北京猝然逝世,终年63岁。
