At the first news conference of the preparatory committee for International Symposium on Agricultural Engineering (Beijing 1989), we heard about Professor Li Xiang (Director of International Liaison Department of Beijing Agricultural Engineering University), member of International Working Committee of China Agricultural Engineering Society A vivid introduction of the embassy in 32 countries. He elicited our desire to understand the international role and impact of agricultural engineering in our country, which is just beginning. To this end, we interviewed Professor Li Xiang. The conversation still revolves around preparations for the 1989 International Symposium on Agricultural Engineering. In order to make this meeting a success, the International Academic Committee visited the embassies in Beijing in addition to getting in touch with agricultural engineering circles from all over the world through communications and academic conferences held abroad. They were invited to convey the meeting information on behalf of them. Visited a total of 32 embassies, including industrialized countries, third world countries and socialist countries. Through the face-to-face contact with the embassies of these countries, Professor LI Xiang has a deep feeling. He told us many things that were unheard of and thought-provoking.
