In the past 10 years, a U.S. university hospital treated 114 women with pelvic fractures, 4 of whom had vaginal injuries (3.5%). Three patients were diagnosed immediately after admission. Two patients were treated with vaginal repair and recovered successfully. The other one was repaired by massive blood transfusion, laparotomy and vaginal anterior vaginal fornix and eventually died on the following day due to uncontrollable bleeding.
