在武宣县东乡公社卫生院牙科室里,经常看到有一位年过半百的老医生在精心地为群众治病,热情地向学员们传授医疗技术。这位老医生就是天津下放的牙科医生牛德明。牛德明从城市来到农村后,牢记毛主席的教导,认真看书学习,虚心接受贫下中农的再教育,自觉改造世界观,全心全意为山区人民服务。三年来,在设备简陋的条件下,为社员拔牙、镶牙、补牙和治疗各种牙科疾病七千多人次;为柳州地区六个县十二个公社及自治区内其他一些医疗单位培训了二十多名牙科医务人员,广大贫下中农热情地赞扬他是“毛主席派来的好医生”,称他是“贫下中农的贴心人”。
In the dental room of the Dongxiang Commune Hospital in Wuxuan County, it is common to see an old doctor who has passed over half a century to carefully treat the people and teach them passionately about medical technology. The old doctor was Niu Deming, a dentist decentralized in Tianjin. After Niu Deming came to the countryside from the city, he kept in mind President Mao’s teachings, read books carefully, and humbly accepted the re-education of the poor and middle peasants, consciously transformed the world outlook, and wholeheartedly serve the mountain people. In the past three years, under the condition of poor equipment, more than 7,000 visits have been made to remove teeth, insert teeth, apply teeth and treat various dental diseases; more than 20 people have been trained for 12 communes in six counties in Liuzhou and other medical institutions in the autonomous region. The dental medical staff, the vast number of poor and middle-aged farmers enthusiastically praised him as “a good doctor sent by Chairman Mao,” and called him a “narrow peasant intimate person.”
