桑迪亚(Sandia)国家实验室的科学家们利用激光导引电子束通过气体,这种试验的成就可以加速射线武器、聚变能和核武器的研制。桑迪亚实验室第一个论证了能引导电子束通过由紫外线激光器产生的管状带电通道的气体。
Scientists at Sandia’s National Laboratory use laser-guided electron beams to pass the gas, and the success of such experiments can accelerate the development of ray weapons, fusion energy and nuclear weapons. Sandia’s lab demonstrated for the first time the ability to direct the electron beam through a tube-shaped charged channel created by an ultraviolet laser.
