MEL Corporation (Philips UK subsidiary) The Avionics Division recently exhibited Su-per Searcher, a control and command radar that can be used as the heart of the command system or alone. The radar has been sold to the Indian Navy and recommended for use in Australia. Another Marcc II radar, which can be used for search, rescue, fishing and offshore oil exploration, has been selected by the Indian Coast Guard. MEL company estimates Marec Ⅱ will have 36 sales. The Sea Searcher radar is Marec’s military version. It will be installed on the Royal Navy’s submarine warship. An anti-radar warning system, Katie, developed by MEL and DalmoVictor, USA, for detection of aircraft (including helicopters) is also on display.
