山西省大同市警犬基地成立于2002年9月,坐落于大同市南郊区三井村村东,占地30亩,是一所集训练、培育、刑侦为一体的综合性大型警犬基地。基地成立以来,为更好地发挥警犬的特殊作用,基地又成立了刑侦队和巡逻队配合其工作,得到了全市各部门、各有关方面的大力支持,并取得了显著成效。特别是在2002年的“2·24”阳高神泉堡凶杀案、“8·24”云威矿药厂盗窃案、“9·13”南郊区武装部弹药库被盗未遂案中刑侦队大显身手,立下大功。在参加大同市举办的历届“云冈旅游节”的安检、保卫等工作中,突出地体现了警犬在大型群众活动及处置突发事件中的重要作用,确保了各项活动的安全顺利进行。在全国公安警犬比武中荣获第四名。
