Due to the blast furnace oxygen blowing and the use of strengthening system, the main roof life decreased significantly (Table 1). The deterioration of the roof tile is exacerbated by the accelerated movement of the exhaust gas containing a large amount of dust and slag and the higher temperature in the hearth.
